Leah Ansel

Executive Chair

Public Policy Studies
Class of 2017

Leah Ansel is a third year in the College majoring in Public Policy Studies as has been a member of SAC for two years, serving as both a general member and as Secretary. As Executive Chair, Leah aims to continue to build on the SAC’s programming to foster strong relationships between UChicago students and alumni. 

In addition to her involvement with SAC, Leah works as a Student Operations Assistant a the Center for Leadership and Involvement Finance Office, is Treasurer of the Hillel Student Leadership Board, and is a member of University of Chicago Careers in Business (UCIB). This past summer, Leah interned at The Dershowitz Group, a boutique political consulting firm in Washington, D.C., and will be returning to D.C. again this summer to intern at SIFMA. 

When not in Chicago, Leah lives in Syosset, NY.  In addition to her passion for public policy, Leah is a classical music enthusiast and a news junkie.


Katie Anderson

Katie is a second year Political Science and Public Policy major from Natick, Massachusetts. In addition to SAC, she is on the Varsity Basketball team, as well as editor for the Sports section of The Chicago Maroon, and Vice President of Programming for Delta Gamma. 


Allison Yu

Marketing Chair

Class of 2018

Allison Yu is a third year Sociology Major and Human Rights Minor. She has been a part of SAC for three years, serving as the previous Social Media and Website Coordinator Vice Chair and now as Marketing Chair. In addition to her role in SAC, Allison is also involved in ArtShould and UCIB, and interns at UChicago Creative. As Marketing Chair, she hopes to build awareness, enthusiasm, and connections between the student body and alumni.


Josef Omar

Alumni Outreach Chair

Class of 2018

Josef is a second year Economics major at the College originally from New York, NY. He serves as the Alumni Outreach Chair on SAC whose role is to keep alumni in touch and involved with SAC events and programs. He captains the UChicago fencing club team and previously was a member of the Student Leadership Institute.

Lauren Mimms

Assistant Director, Student Advancement

Lauren received her undergraduate degree in Anthropology and Classics from Lawrence University and her Master of Science in Higher Education and Social Policy from Northwestern University.  Formerly, Lauren worked as an archaeologist then as a student organization advisor at Northwestern's McCormick School of Engineering.

When Lauren is not advising the SAC or working on the Senior Class Gift campaign, she loves to travel internationally, binge on true crime documentaries, and check out new restaurants in the city.
